2019 Château Haut-Batailley Cru Classé Pauillac

£49.00

“The 2019 Haut-Batailley has a precise and quite understated bouquet with mineral-rich black fruit, cedar and mint, just a very slight floral note developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with graphite infused black fruit, classic in style, very well balanced with wonderful tension. It fans out effortlessly on the finish. Superb.”

Product Description

Château Haut-Batailley marks the entrance into the vineyard of Pauillac with the iconic Tour l’Aspic (Aspic tower) that dominates the estate. The estate is a classified growth, included in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. The actual vineyard of Château Haut-Batailley was defined in 1942 when the estate was divided into two separate properties (Batailley and Haut-Batailley). The vines are located on the southern part of the Pauillac appellation, bordering Saint-Julien.

In 2017, a new and exciting chapter under the Cazes family began, who also own Châteaux Lynch-Bages and Ormes de Pez.
