2018 Garrus Rosé, Château d’Esclans, Côtes de Provence
£84.00
“This is like glacier water with crystalline purity; the transparency of florals to the 2018 Garrus are stunning – think almond blossom, white roses and gentian. White peaches and chamomile are also never far away. There’s striking tension to the palate, which is full-bodied and very oily, but brilliantly pure and vivacious. Long and mineral on the finish.”
95 Points, James Suckling
“Light salmon pink. Balsamic wood, a whisper of chamomile tea, red berries, forest blueberries, aromatically highly endowed. Feisty palate, strong wood accent, substantial, alcohol has drive but is well-integrated, dense with a discreet mineral underpinning, ripe acidity carries the wine well; a big rosé that definitely needs a dish.”
Considered Château d’Esclans’ finest wine, Garrus is made from a single vineyard of nearly 100 year-old vines. Entirely fermented and aged in new large French oak barrels, the powerful and elegant Garrus was at the heart to Sacha Lichine’s vision to make rosé grand. Today Garrus is firmly established as a world class, iconic luxury rosé.
