2018 Tenuta Sette Cieli ‘Indaco’ Toscana IGT

“Indaco is a blend of around one-third each of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruit is vinified in stainless steel with indigenous yeast followed by a 20-day maceration. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels for 14 months. In 2018 the estate experienced a summer bracketed by a wet spring and a hot September with cool evenings. Creamy, ripe, bramble fruit aromas are joined in the mouth by spicy, juicy red fruits and a streak of dark, plummy fruits. Grippy, floral and vertical, it showcases the limestone in the soils at 400m asl, overlooking the Bolgheri boundary.”

Ineffably elegant acidity and beautifully integrated, strong but fluid tannins. A spectrum of tobacco leaf, from green to gold to copper-rustling-dry. Stony dignity. Very impressive.”
