“The Wismer vineyard is considered the sweet spot of the bench, at 133m altitude and 5.5km from Lake Ontario, which gives good protection and hang-time. From the Parke parcel, this shows tart red fruit on nose and palate with crisp acidity. Firm tannins and notes of iodine give it a steely frame. Lean more than generous but with amazing typicity for Pinot Noir – almost Pommard-like.”
