2019 Bandol Rouge Domaine de Terrebrune
£42.00
“The first vintage on the Place this year and the first Bandol property to be represented. Roses, lychee, peach, floral scented red cherries and strawberries too, a very nuanced and expressive nose. Full, plush and ripe on the palate, massy chewy tannins fill the mouth and provide a chalky base for the ripe fruit. This is carefully controlled though, nothing sticks out or is too much. Despite the concentration there is a nice delicacy to the overall feel. I like the herbal aspects, the floral ones, the minty liquorice touch and cola at the end. Easy drinking with nuance and style.”
Owned by Reynald Delille, son of the founder of the Domaine, and Jean d’Arthuys, a media man and entrepreneur with a passion for wine, the Domaine is today considered one of the greatest in the South of France. It tirelessly pursues its quest for excellence.
With 35 hectares of vines planted in terraces facing the Mediterranean Sea and in organic farming, the Domaine de Terrebrune produces wines whose identity and character are forged by this magical Triassic terroir and the king grape variety of Bandol, Mourvèdre.
