2019 Úrágya Tokaji Furmint Dobogó
£29.00
“Bristling with juicy exotic fruit and salty mineral characters, with a solid, elaborate structure and remarkable purity flowing through to a long and delectable finish.”
Dobogó is a small, family-run winery comprising five hectares of vineyards in the heart of Tokaj, near the famous village of Mád. The winery is owned by Izabella Zwack and winemaker Attila Domokos, who share a vision for creating fresh, vibrant, exciting expressions of Tokaji, both in the ‘aszú’ and drier styles while remaining faithful to Tokaj’s historic reputation for excellence.
The Dobogó vineyards are distributed over five hectares in the volcanic heartland of Tokaj, around the village of Mád. These are the first growths of Betsek, St. Tamás, and Úrágya where Furmint, Tokaj’s principle grape, can reveal its truest self, that of a very bold, unique, characteristic, fruity yet very mineral variety. The vines are planted on volcanic soils consisting of rhyolite, tuff and clay and produce very low yields.
