2020 Domaine Bertrand Bachelet Chassagne-Montrachet

£68.00

“I like the pie crust and apple tart notes here giving a toasty and biscuity complexity. Mango stones and spiced pears, too. Rich and buttery, exploding on the palate with a full body and intense salty pastry character. Remains agile and lively. Fantastic village level wine.”

Product Description

It was a passion for wine that led Bertrand Bachelet to take over the family estate in 2011, following in the footsteps of his father, Jean-Louis. He represents the fourth generation of a line of Burgundian winemakers.

The Chassagne-Montrachet appellation is located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune and produces mainly white wines. The vineyard faces east, with very variable soils, marked by the presence of iron oxide, giving a reddish-brown color to the earth.

Two places are used by the estate for the production of white Chassagne-Montrachet: La Canière and Les Lombardes.
