2020 Edoardo Miroglio Heritage Pinot Noir

£20.00

Aged for 12 months in French oak.
“Light crimson. As with the Soli 2021, there’s an exuberance of red fruit, though it’s not as obviously sweet here – more depth and definition. More of a herbal and floral impression surrounding the fruit. The woody allspice oak imprint is melded very nicely. Full, silky and polished but not losing its savoury/spicy edge. The finish is a little pinched in terms of fruit, but there’s plenty of satisfaction here.”

Product Description

Winemaker Edoardo Miroglio searched high and low to find the perfect spot to grow Pinot Noir in Bulgaria. The piece of land he chose is on the eastern side of the Thracian Valley, where the Saint Ilia hills shade the area from the freezing Baltic winds while a natural lake nearby regulates the temperature. Although the site looked perfect Miroglio is no fool, he had extensive tests and research done just to confirm his theory. He purchased the land in 1998 and by 2004 they had produced their first vintage.

A classy wine! This Pinot Noir has always had such great concentration and pin-sharp focus to the nose- peonies and plums and spice and more mineral-edged too, alongside– orange rind and a little sage, with a gorgeous edge of mature crushed leaves and bracken and long, spicey finish with a kiss of tar.
