“Declares itself with a cloud of fragrance: tangerine peel, sweet spices, choisya blossom. Harvest-moon-like roundness, red-goldenness, luminosity, stillness. Panna cotta richness. But the stillness and cooked-cream richness doesn’t mean a lack of energy or current. The energy is orbital and hones the finish into something peppery and also fresh-oregano minty and bitter. I think this would be stunning with scallops and celeriac cream/purée. Or even a creamy fish pie.”

Product Description
Gašper is located in Goriška Brda, which comprises two-thirds of Collio which stretches into Slovenia from Friuli Venezia Giulia, in northeast Italy. Goriška Brda’s climate is ideally suited to viticulture, with its proximity to the Adriatic Sea and the Alps providing dry, warm summers with cooling breezes during the crucial ripening period. The Gašper wine estate is a joint venture between a local co-operative and the Čarman family, who have been in the hospitality and wine industry for over 50 years.
Only made in the best years, from two selected `crus`, the Rebula Selection is elegant and precise with excellent fruit weight and well-integrated oak notes, making it suitable for ageing
This wine is straw yellow in colour with golden highlights. The complex bouquet of fragrant pear, peach, lime, orange and blossom continues onto the soft palate, which pleasantly combines creaminess from the oak with a long-lasting mineral finish.
