“Explosive, exotic and rich, with beautiful aromas of candied ginger, starfruit, ripe apricot and caramelised pineapple. In the mouth it’s luscious but fresh, showing candied flowers, mango and papaya.”
The name Umathum is Frankish in origin. The Umathums first settled in the region of Lake Neusiedl during the reign of Maria-Theresa. Wine-growing has always played an important role in the Umathum family history. Until the early 1970’s the family delivered its harvested grapes to a cooperative, but later began to bottle their own wines. The Umathum Wine Estate has consistently ranked as one of the best wine-growers in Austria since the early 1990’s.
Intense golden yellow, aromas of honey on the nose, delicate notes of caramel with impressions of exotic fruit notes on the palate, fine match of sugar and acidity.
