Tangy and full of energy, a lovely purity and crispness to it, unctuous with mouthwatering acidity, but precise and pure, there’s clarity and fruitiness with a chalky, wet stone and flint undertone giving the mineral direction and terroir influences. A really lovely gourmet style that would work well with food but also the acidity gives such life and zing. Well constructed and appealing chalkiness, subtle but still with intensity. Great frame and length, balance, determination and precision – you can feel this has been crafted.”

Pure and vibrant red fruits with the merest hint of oak (a teeny note of spice and a suggestion of lees richness), and a roundness to the texture but with a light grip increasing the freshness. So fresh but also full in the mouth with real presence. Excellent balance and depth. A serious rosé handled with great care and one that could be enjoyed with or without food.”

Clos Cantenac is a small but seductive 6 hectares property made up of four main parcels of vines carefully planted on an exceptional “terroir” of deep gravels, sand and clay over broken limestone situated close to the prehistoric “Megalith ?de Pierrefitte”.
The colour of this wine is a clean bright and instantly appealing pale rose petal pink, almost translucent, with intense and fragrant aromas of luscious wild strawberries, mandarin peel, grapefruit, citrus, and red berries. On the palate it shows the same fine register of complex red summer berry and tropical fruit flavours, with hints of vanilla, a soft attack of smokiness and a savoury finish. It is a very seductive style of rosé, long, fresh and aromatic, yet perfectly balanced by a lovely refreshing acidity, which combines perfectly with the long, dry persistent finish.
