“Very pale, it brims with fresh strawberry and violets, a hint of cinnamon. A quintessential, precise expression of Nebbiolo, there is none of the peppery character found in less refined examples; instead, typical dried cherry notes and pleasing concentration. Crisp and supple, light and elegant with silky tannins. A delightful wine offering incredible quality for its price. With a small portion undergoing carbonic maceration, this is aged solely in stainless steel for eight months, of which two are on the fine lees.”

Product Description
The Cogno Winery produces the principle wines of the Langhe. The winery owns about fifteen hectares of vineyard property in Novello, one of eleven townships in the province of Cuneo in which Barolo DOCG production is allowed.
The hills are world-renowned for their history, culture, and beauty, and they were recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage.
In the footsteps of its founder Elvio Cogno, today Nadia Cogno and Valter Fissore direct the winery with four generations of winemakers and vine growers, dedicated to obtaining excellence that begins with the unique terroir to create wines that are famous throughout the world for their elegance, texture, and balance.
With four Barolo labels and nine and a half hectares of vineyards in Ravera, Cogno is the most important producer of the Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva (MeGA) “Ravera.” Ravera is the most well-known cru, or zone of vineyards, of Novello. It is recognized for producing wines that are able to withstand time while maintaining their aromas and freshness intact.
Anas-Cëtta is an autochthonous historical variety specifically from Novello commune. Since the first limited production run in 1994, working with tenacity and love for the land of the Langhe, Cogno winery has used the memories of old-timers in Novello to produce a wine for the youngsters of the third millennium. Mentioned in winemaking documents as early as the second half of the 19th century, this white wine, probably of local origin, has a sapidity reminiscent of the great hot-clime varietals such as Vermentino.
Nebbiolo has always been one of the most beautiful grapes of the Langhe, able to express new nuances and emotions to those who cultivate and vinify it with respect. It is a meaningful gift and great ambassador of its land of origins. Montegrilli is born in the vineyards with the goal of becoming a genuine and focused wine, able to show the true personality of Nebbiolo grape. With this in mind, we produce a wine without any aging in wood in order to differentiate it clearly from Barolo, creating a product with great immediacy, freshness and drinkability.
Deep ruby red in colour with a slight orange edge. Harmonious well-balanced aroma, a pleasant blend of floral, fruity and soft spicy scents, with a sapid finish of rose and violet. Fresh lively bouquet with harmonious tannins, alcohol and balanced acidity. Soft, elegant and full-bodied with a very long aftertaste. Redolent of freshly macerated red berries, raspberry and redcurrant.
