2020 Meursault Clos du Cromin Domaine Bertrand Bachelet

£68.00

“Matured in barrel through to February of the second year, then a month in tank before bottling. Made from ancient vines. The nose offers yellow fruit behind a mild reduction. On the palate, the Clos du Cromin kicks on with a really vivacious freshness, a little plumper than Bachelet-Monnot make theirs, but generosity is combined with precision. A very long aftertaste.”

Product Description

It was a passion for wine that led Bertrand Bachelet to take over the family estate in 2011, following in the footsteps of his father, Jean-Louis. He represents the fourth generation of a line of Burgundian winegrowers. Bertrand currently farms 13 hectares spread over the Beaune coast, from Maranges to Pommard.

Meursault, a world-renowned appellation, has produced mainly great white wines for many centuries. The estate’s wines come from the place called “Le Cromin”, located in the north-east of the appellation, close to the Volnay vineyard: the soil is rich, clayey and not very stony.
